Bakwena Development Programmes is dedicated to the empowerment and upliftment of the Bakwena ba Mogopa community. Our organization is responsible for overseeing a broad range of social, economic, and cultural projects aimed at improving the quality of life for all Bakwena ba Mogopa people, both within our region and beyond.

Rooted in the traditions and values of the Bakwena Nation, our mission is to foster self-determination while driving sustainable development across sectors such as education, agriculture, heritage preservation, and infrastructure. We take a comprehensive approach to development, ensuring that each project contributes to the long-term growth and prosperity of our people.

We are deeply committed to the preservation of Bakwena ba Mogopa’s heritage sites, ensuring that future generations remain connected to their history, while also equipping them with the tools they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world. We believe in the power of education, youth empowerment, and economic independence as the cornerstones of sustainable development.

Through collaboration with stakeholders, including traditional leaders, the private sector, and government entities, we aim to create a future where the Bakwena ba Mogopa people can take charge of their destiny. Our initiatives span a wide range of areas, from establishing agricultural hubs and youth development programs to building essential infrastructure such as schools, hospitals, and manufacturing plants.

Economic Initiatives

Agro-Processing and Milling Factories

We supervise the establishment of agro-processing plants, silos, and milling factories to enhance food production and sustainability in our communities.

Indigenous Seed Preservation

To preserve our agricultural heritage, we ensure the preservation of indigenous seeds and promote their seasonal uses.

Abattoir Development

We oversee the development of an abattoir to support livestock production and processing for Bakwena ba Mogopa.

Mutual Bank

We are focused on establishing a Mutual Bank to provide financial services tailored to the needs of our people, fostering financial independence.

Trade Expansion

In collaboration with Bakwena ba ga Kgabo in Botswana and Namibia, we manage initiatives to expand trade relations, benefiting our people through regional partnerships.

Infrastructure Development

Ditswe Dam and Irrigation System

We are overseeing the construction of Ditswe Dam and an irrigation system that will facilitate mass crop production, contributing to the sustainability of our agricultural efforts.

Water Purification and Green Energy

Our vision includes a water purification plant at Ditswe Dam, ensuring clean water access, and a green energy plant to support key infrastructure in the capital village.

Manufacturing and Insurance Sectors

We supervise the establishment of manufacturing plants and an insurance company to support economic development and job creation.

Community Welfare

Old Age Home

A dignified old age home is being established in our capital village to ensure our senior residents receive the care and respect they deserve.

Private Hospital and Medical Aid

We are developing a private hospital near the old age home to provide accessible healthcare for the Bakwena ba Mogopa community. Additionally, we are establishing a medical aid scheme to further support our people's health needs.
